Namaste,
Well this is the first blog written on my new laptop! After a little over three years, and hundreds of hours, my old unit gave up the ghost. Good thing is I back-up to an external hard drive often. I have all of my pictures, but I may have lost some music. Oh well!!!!! Yesterday, I took Sherrie to work due to the ice and snow, then I headed to Starbucks... They were closed! :-( That sucked! I went on in to work, and got started. We had prepared for a holiday, due to the weather, so most things were done. I spent a large part of the day breaking ice on the sidewalks. We got them cleared until the 12 inches of snow fell! Jason Klinka shamed me into going to the Thunder game last night! I was not going to go but, he didn't want to go by his self. The Thunder beat the Nuggets like a drum! We sat court side for the second half! I got a few good pictures.
I got up at 5:30 this morning, and went out to clear my driveway. I removed all of the snow, and then put down some salt to breakup the ice. I met JT at the hospital at 7:30 to clear sidewalks, and under the awning. We did well, then I came home and got Sherrie and we headed over to mom's. Mom cooked biscuits, and I cleaned her driveway and sidewalk, then came home and finished my driveway. All told about seven hours of snow and ice removal. I am very sore tonight. Like tennis elbow, and my neck is really sore. I came in and took a hot shower, then took Sherrie to see Avatar. Trey and I went the day it came out but she has been complaining about not getting to go so we went. After the movie, we decided Chinese sounded good., I had a bit of sushi, then promptly threw up! Some things just don't stay down! It was much better going down! when we got home Sherrie broke the handle on the toilet, so we went to Wal-Mart! Ben in electronics talked me into this new laptop, that just went on clearance today. I needed to wait a couple more weeks but couldn't pass up the deal. I am transferring all f my files from my external which may take all night. Aubrey from church called me this afternoon and ask if I could get to church at 7:45 in the morning to help clear the sidewalks. Soooo I better get some rest!
Love you all!

Namaste,
Well the end of the world happened today, I guess! The weathermen have been predicting this horrible winter storm for a couple of weeks, so the shelves are bare at the stores, and they cancelled schools today. We prepared at work, like today was a holiday. I have to take Sherrie to work so I will go in and make sure everyone is taken care of! Even though things are in order pharmacy wise, it is still health care and we are dealing with peoples lives! When I got home from the gym I laid down for an hour then went to open the gym. We had no idea who would show up, but Ryan Chyzy, Ian Freeman, and a new cat, Stephen showed up, we worked hands, cardio, and the some ground and pound! I came home showered, and relaxed a bit. I slept on the couch to see if that would help my back. I slept well except I froze to death, because I only had a flimsy blanket! Yesterday was Sherrie's dad's birthday! "Happy Birthday Randy!"
Love you all!

Namaste,
Tuesday was a good day.... Stayed pretty busy at work, then had a meeting with Tony Brummitt to discuss some financial planning, and if anyone needs financial planning it's me! I got to the gym at 6:30, and there was a class going on so I jumped in the cage with some of the guys who are training for the Red Dragon "Enter the Octagon" coming up next month. I think I did pretty darn well, given the experience level of those guys! I was suppose to train with Ben but he has a case of the "Burritos" anyway.... He bowed out!
Wednesday.... Got to work early, had plenty to do. Had a quick lunch with Ben. We went to Which-Which.... It is a sand which shop that has about 100 different sandwiches... I vow to try them all! Each time I am going to try something different. I had a chicken cheese steak. It was OK.... Not my favorite. Next time it will be the "Elvis" which is peanut butter, jelly, and banana. I picked up Trey from mom's and we headed down to the Thunder game. Trey loves my buddy Ronnie Brewers restaurant "Roosters!" Roosters servers Fried chicken, Fried okra, fried potatoes! Needless to say.... Health food! We walked over to the parking garage to see my buddy Taveon "T" Sumlin. T just fought in Tulsa last week, and I am soooo proud of him. T came to the gym weighing about 340 pounds, and he fought at 285 last week! Head, heart, and accountability. T is a full time student, works full time, and trains full time. He is a great kid, and I will do anything I can to help him, live a healthier lifestyle! I may invite him on a hike soon! We went to the game, and it was crappy. The Thunder came out flat, and slow, and the Bulls put it on us! I was really tired, and when we got home, I freakin crashed! Today we are expecting an ice storm followed by an arctic blast, with 20 inches of snow! I am putting my climbing gear in the car in case I have to dig people out! The news keeps running stories about, the grocery stores running out of bread, milk, batteries, and portable generators! The weathermen have Sherrie so terrified, that she is considering not making the kids go to school today!
I heard from my buddy Giles, yesterday.... He is in South Korea, heading to New Zealand. Wolf is heading to France for a long weekend! I am going to be stuck in Edmond, Oklahoma shoveling snow! How much fun will that be????
Love you all!

Namaste,
Monday was quite a busy day. Work was work! Just like it should be "Work!" Or as quoted in the movie "Mo Money" "A job aint nuthing but work!" Oh heck I must digress! Anyway.... I met a friend of mine Ryan Chyzy at a commercial property we are considering putting a bid in on. It is very, very large, and neither of us could handle it by ourselves! I really think the opportunities I have with the landscape business, could open a bunch of doors! To think that I could work really, really hard for 8 months, and then teach in some third world country, or build a orphanage in Africa, etc.... It would require a few more contracts, and a huge investment in equipment, but since I am insured through my wife's work, and the kids are old enough to care for themselves while I am on another continent..... I don't know, maybe it's all a dream. I came home and got dressed for the gym. We worked really hard, and I needed it! After class we had open gym, and I rolled with some of our pro fighters! I was extremely proud of my performance. I held my own! Anyway... Home for a shower, and then I made a fruit smoothie with, banana's, strawberries, blueberries, and yogurt! Really yummy! Have you been to www.wolf-photography.com and clicked on the book link?

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, January 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, 2010
Hello Everyone,
Busy weekend! Friday at work was busy. After work I came home and Sherrie and I went to the market to buy groceries. We bought half the store, but we were out of everything, and you know what they say about going to the grocery store when you are hungry. Miriam's little boy Tommy spent the night with us again. This kid is a bundle of energy! Saturday morning, I got up at 6:00am and took my car in for service. As I was waiting, I had two different guys recognise me and want to talk about the Quest. I enjoy talking about my journey and tell people what is possible. I also had time to read my buddy Wolf's poetry book in full. It was an amazing read, and I encourage each of you to log on to his website www.wolf-photography.com and click on the books tab. Buy this book! Read it! If you do not like it.... I will buy it back from you! After I came home I worked on my fence. I lost two fence panels when we had our blizzard on Christmas eve. I have it patched up, but need to dig up the cement post that are broken off, and put in new post. I came in around noon, and cleaned up, then Sherrie and I headed to Tulsa. Tulsa is 120 miles North of here and the reason for the trip was, we had four fighters fighting Muay Thai. Muay Thai, is kick-boxing with knee's. It can be brutal. We went up early to do some shopping and have dinner at one of Sherrie's favorite restaurants. We got to the venue early, and hung out with the fighter and seconds. Our first fighter won by split decision, second lost by TKO, third lost by decision, fourth won by split decision. So overall 2 and 2! Not bad! Crappy thing was then we had to drive home! We got in just after midnight, and then had to be up early to get Jordan to work by 8:00am. I came by the house and got Sherrie then we headed to church. Trey and I worked in the lot, and then joined Sherrie for the service. We came home and I tried to work on the dryer, but I can't figure out how to get into it! We had a volunteers meeting at the church at 1:30, so I went to that, then back home to work on the fence. I bought two 8 foot post and since I don't have a truck right now, I had to put them through the window of my car. If you don't know I drive a little sexy black sports car. It looked really funny with these two 8 foot long, 4 x 4's sticking out the window! I did some more digging, then mom showed up, and we headed to El Reno to see Curtis' new house. He and Lisa cooked us dinner, and it was soooo gooood! We headed back home to get ready for the upcoming week. It will be another crazy busy week. Gym tomorrow night, then Trey has a scholar squad competition, Tuesday, The Thunder are in town to play the Bull's Wednesday, Gym Thursday, Then Oklahoma Epilepsy Association Board of Directors meeting Friday night. Soooo much to do, better get started!
Much Love!

Namaste,
Thursday was pretty crappy! I continue to have computer problems. I have all but decided to throw it in the trash and start over. I got the virus cleaned off, and got all of my pictures backed up, but I have not downloaded all of my music. There is a bunch of other stuff on there too, but at this point I don't know if it is worth the frustration. I was going to the gym tonight, to teach the women and kids, but when I came home to change, my buddy Ben came over to help me patch a hole in the wall, and while I was cutting sheet rock, I sliced the end of my finger off. Kinda sucks. I should have gone to the emergency room, but I hate doctors. Sherrie and I are going to Tulsa Saturday, to hang out and do some looking around. I have three fighters fighting (Was four, until an injury) and I think we need to be there to support them. I am going to sleep in Saturday morning.... Maybe until 6:00am!
Love you all!

Namaste,
Again, Namaste means "Bless the spirit within!" Yesterday, I was feeling quite a bit better, but still had quite a bit of pain. I got quite a bit done at work yesterday. We did narcotic audits, and unit inspections. Wow! Sounds like fun???? I have been fighting a computer virus in my primary laptop for a solid week now. I cleaned the virus yesterday, but now after two minutes it just shuts down. I am ready to throw it in the trash and start over. My friend Wolf's book is ready you can buy it from his website Wolf-Photography.com under the book tab. If you love poetry, I encourage you to purchase this book. He is a very talented photographer, who's writing is equal to anything I have ever read. I find peace in poetry. There is something that just makes me smile. I emailed my mentor Ed Viesters yesterday. I just finished his book "Himalayan Quest" and watched his Imax video "Everest." I hope to hear back from him soon. He is my climbing hero. Google search him sometime. His mountaineering resume is second to none. He is considered the best climber in the world. I have a huge man crush on him!

Namaste,
Well if Tuesday was anything it was a bear. I got up and got the kids going, headed by Starbucks, then on to work. We have been doing some spring cleaning and that is OK, but very mind numbing. My back is really giving me fits! I was in so much pain yesterday, that I was sick to my stomach. I got an email from my great friend Wolf. He is encouraging me to slow my roll, and relax a bit. I am not good at that! I have sooo many irons in the fire, I probably need to let a few things go! Anyway.... Here we are Wednesday morning at 5:00am, just thinking about everything that needs to get done today! Not a good start to the relaxation thing! I do know I need to take some time off from the gym. If my back does not improve, it will limit my ability to do so many other things I enjoy!

Namaste,
Well..... I am in a funk! My world is in such unrest I don't which way is up! I have sooooooo many opportunities right now I don't know what to do! I would love to jump out on my own and do my own thing, but that takes some man sized balls, and I haven't measured yet! I also have a couple of real estate opportunities, but that takes some balls as well! Sunday was nice! I worked at church then worked on my garage, and lawn equipment. I went to the fair grounds at 5:00 and helped Chad Duggan breakdown his ginormous display. We had to rebag 280 bags of mulch. I really strained my back! We also palliated flat rocks. I came home and took some lortab and my wife put me to bed! I overslept Monday morning! The kids were out of school for Martin Luther King day, and I wanted to be at work early, but that didn't happen! I somehow downloaded a virus on my primary laptop, so I have been working for 16 hours to clean my laptop! I am using my little lapt0p that I took to Nepal. I made a decision today that I need to go to K2 Base Camp. I don't know how or when, but that may be my next quest!

Namaste,
Good morning! Friday was a blur.... Work was quite busy, and we had a ton going on! I don't remember how much I have written about my new business opportunity, but it continues to grow at an alarming pace. I think I have three major contracts, and working on one that would put me in a situation to comptemplate a career change. I am terrified to think that I could be my own boss, and do something I really enjoy, make a healthy living, and be able to spend several months a year doing something to help mankind, but that is an entirely different story. I met with a very large retirement community Friday at lunch about doing their 37 acre campus. There is a ton of work to do there, but nothing I cant handle with the right equipment and a couple of hired hands. Friday night... Sherrie, Trey, and I went to the Home and Garden Show. Last year they had a ton of lawn equipment.... This year there was only one company! I looked at some John Deere stuff, and I think they have a great price! I have all of the small equipment I would need, but I need a 54 to 60 inch deck mower, and a few other things. Saturday morning, Sherrie and I got up and started cleaning house! Really cleaning! About noon we took a break and had a bite to eat. We continued to do some cleaning and then at 3:00 Curtis came by and went to look at this new property with me. He thinks it is manageable, with the right amount of help! When I got back Sherrie and I loaded up and went down to Bricktown, to walk around. The weather was crappy, so we walked around a few stores then went to In The Raw, for some Sushi. Mike Champlin and his Dd met us there before the Basketball game. The OKC Thunder was playing the Miami Heat. We kicked their butts! I enjoy going to the games but sometimes it gets to be a job with 3 or 4 games a week. This week the team is on a four game road trip so I will spend a lot of time in the gym, getting ready for my fight next month. Sherrie and I have decided to go to Galveston for a few days around our anniversary. This is big #20, and I thought nothing would be better than walking along the beach, and reflecting on the last 20 years. Kinda sappy! Wish I had more time to take off and go on a cruise or something but that just is not in the cards right now! Well I need to get to church, so I will write more tonight or in the morning! I am going to help my buddy Chad Duggan tonight breakdown his display at the Home and Garden show at 5:00! He is one of my sponsors and owns RedRock Landscape and Design. He will be able to give me some sound advice!

Namaste,
Work yesterday was fine! Went to Which-Which for lunch yesterday! It is a new sandwich shop by the hospital! I had a "Spam" sandwich! I am going to try something different everytime we go! Anyway.... Went to the gym after work, and had an awesome workout! I taught the class, so we did mostly grappling! (Imagine that!) I held pads for Jessica, and Adam Bobay. I love holding pads!!! I get a great workout while doing it! My grappling is getting better, and better! Miriam came by last night and I showed her Wolf's exhibition, and my pictures from Utah! I think she is going to help us get something going on Wolf's poetry, and photography! He is such an inspiration. If you don't know who I am talking about. Villayat Wolf Sunkmanitu, and I met by chance in Kathmandu, Nepal. Wolf is an incredible photographer, and even better writer! We hit it off immediately! We went on a shoot together while in Nepal, and had an immediate connection. We continue to email almost daily, and I can't wait to work with him again! He has become a true friend!
Much Love!

Work yesterday was fine! Went to Which-Which for lunch yesterday! It is a new sandwich shop by the hospital! I had a "Spam" sandwich! I am going to try something different everytime we go! Anyway.... Good Morning,
Dropped the kids off at school and then headed to Starbucks for my cup of bold! Work was good, as we stayed busy! I washed my car at lunch, then had a quick bite. I came home right after work and changed clothes. While I was in the house the cat walked all over my nice clean car with muddy paws! If I didn't love that dang cat I would shoot it! I headed down to the Ford center for the Thunder Vs. Spurs game. I went down to the floor and talked with Tony Parker. He was the only Spur out early. I got some good candid shots of him walking around talking to some of the fans. Today looks busy already. I have to take Trey's violin in to get a string replaced then to his school before his seventh hour. My new business venture is really taking off. It would be cool for this thing to become huge, and become a new substantial revenue source.
Love you all!

Namaste,
Tuesday came and went without much fuss. Got up early and did a few things around here, then took the kids to school. Stopped by Starbucks then on to work. The girls from work took me to Louie's for my birthday lunch. It was yummy! After work I came home and got dressed for the gym. I had decided earlier in the day, that since it was in the 40's and relatively warm compared to the last few weeks, I would ride my bike to the gym. It's only about four miles and it was a good warm up before class started. We had a great work out. I had not been to the gym in several days because I was out of town and then under the weather, anyway great workout, then home to get ready for today. Tonight the Thunder play the Spurs! Should be a great game.
Love you All!

Namaste,
Monday was a good day. Mondays are always busy, trying to catch-up from the weekend. After work I came home and changed clothes, put on my OU gear and Mike and I headed down to the OU/osu Basketball game in Norman. I have to tell you.... That was like pulling teeth! Even though OU won the game in overtime, it was a horrible display of basketball. The players were out of shape, ran no set plays, and looked like junior high players. Very disappointing. I was just watching the clock waiting for it to be over. The only saving grace is, I don't have to listen to all the Aggies talk about beating us today. I am going to the gym tonight. It has been quite a while sine I have been. I do miss it but have been able to get a lot done. Funny thing is I am still beat up a little. I got hurt worse playing Dodge Ball on Saturday, than I ever have at Fight Club. Trey went to the Thunder Game with the Herman's last night. I think he had a great time. I have posted a few pictures from the Thunder Game Saturday night on my web site under the sports tab.

Namaste,
If you are a new follower, and have no idea why I start most blogs with "Namaste".... It means "Bless the spirit within!" I am the last guy who will ever be accused of being a hypocrite. I feel that your spiritual life has to be strong to be at peace with mother nature. "Not to get too weird this morning!" I choose Christianity, if you choose something else???? Namaste!
Friday was a really good day... Work was busy enough that it flew by. We kept Miriam's little boy Tommy overnight. He is a bundle of energy. Sherrie and I ran over to BJ's and have a quick bite of dinner. We were going to walk around the mall, but could not find a parking spot. I guess due to the frigid temperatures. It was busier there than at Christmas time. We came home and watched a movie, and played with Tommy.
Saturday morning I had a speaking engagement at Weight Wise. I had a full house, and feel like I made a difference. Everything went really well and I feel like I connected with several people in the room. We had to be at Dodge Ball Party Zone at 11:30 for my buddy Tony Brummitt's 40th birthday party. It was a surprise, and we had a blast. Think back how long it has been since you played dodge ball? Saturday night my basketball ticket rep Melissa Owumi called and upgraded Sherrie and I to the floor for the Thunder Game. What a blast! I took some great pictures from down there! Most of them were of the cheerleaders! We got to hang out with the rich and famous, politicians, and musicians from the state who you only see on TV! Amazing birthday present!
Sunday morning I worked in the parking lot at church. Sherrie and Trey saved me a seat, and pastor Herbert threw it down. It was 7* outside so I was in my snow gear, and although I did not get cold, once in the building I started sweating! After Church we came home and did some cleaning, then to the market for food, and laundry soap. Watched a little NFL football, and edited pictures. I didn't do a lot! Kinda felt good!
Tonight Mike and I are going to the OU/osu Basketball game in Norman. I think OU will get killed, bu I have not been to a college game yet this year. Time to get these kid's up and ready!
I love you all!

Good Morning!
Very brief blog this morning.... We have inventory at work this morning so yesterday was a bunch of prep work for that. I went home early and laid down, trying to shake this upper respiratory crap I feel coming on. Before I left for Nepal, my Doctor gave me a bunch of antibiotics to take with me. I started on some as soon as I got home and just relaxed. I watched the BCS National Championship game last night. My Uncle Gerald is probably on cloud nine today! He is a huge Alabama fan. I finished my edits on the pictures from last weeks trip. I posted one on my home page of my photography website. I will post a web album when I get a minute! I have had several people comment on my site and on Facebook, that they can't wait to see what I am up to next.... I think I may be making a decision on the Quest for this year. I imagine it will be here in the US, and may involve some Man Vs. Wild type stuff!
Love you all!

Namaste,
Wednesday was back to work day! After almost a week in heaven coming back to the flat lands was kind of a downer. Anyway work continues to be busy. After work I picked up Sherrie and Trey and we went to the Thunder game. We were playing New Orleans, who played here for two years after the hurricane ripped New Orleans apart. We only stayed for three quarters due to the fact that we had a winter storm moving in, and Trey had homework to finish. We had some freezing rain, and wind chills are in negative numbers. We got home and watched the end of the game, then get up this morning to find out school has been cancelled due to the cold weather. The roads are fine, but the wind chill is -10* and they are afraid that kids would die of hypothermia. I was telling Josh at Starbucks... I live for these weather conditions! (other than the fact that I am coming down with some upper respiratory crap!) Time for work!
Love ya!

Namaste,
Where do I start? Mike picked me up at 7:30 Friday morning, and we hit the road. It was a long day of travel. We made it to Moab in about 12 1/2 hours which is getting after it. We had snow the entire way. We travel down I-40 all the way to Gallup, New Mexico, which is just outside of Arizona and then head North through the Navajo land to Colorado, then into Utah. I drove from Gallup into Moab, so we made good time. We checked into the hotel then through town to find something to eat. We went to Zax, which is a brick oven pizza place. It was very good! We went back to the room and crashed. Mike and I are both early risers, so we headed out to Arches before the sun came up. Our first hike was through Park Avenue, then a primitive trail through then windows, over to Double Arch, up to delicate, over to Broken, and Sand Dune, Skyline, and then to Landscape! By that time I was DONE! We had covered 20 or more miles in two to three feet of snow. The sky's were brilliant, and I go some great pictures. We went back to the hotel and cleaned up. Moab was like a ghost town, so we were limited to our dinner selections. We ended up at the Sunset Grill, which is on top of a hill above town. This was my birthday dinner from Mike. It was very good! We headed back to the room and went to bed! The next morning we were both awake by 4:30 and I ask Mike what time we would need to leave by to get to Meas at Sunrise? He said right now, so we dressed very quickly, and headed out. We got to Mesa and there were already two photographers there. The thing about Mesa Arch at Sunrise is the sun catches the underside of the Arch and it looks like it is on fire. I took 250 pictures and several video shots. We left there and hiked around Island in the sky, then over to Dead Horse point, We headed down to Castle Valley and hiked up to Titan, then over to the Colorado river for the rest of the day. We only covered 10 or 12 miles but it was a lot of ice and snow. We went back to town and decided to hit a Chinese restaurant. Back to the room and sleepy time. We got up early again on Monday morning, and headed down to the Needles district of Canyonlands. Needles is 72 miles South of Moab. We hiked up Elephant Hill to Chessler Park, through the park to Druid Arch turn off, over to joint trail, and then back to Elephant Hill. This was some of the toughest hiking I have ever done. This was as tough as anything I did in Nepal other than climbing Imja Tse. It was tough going breaking trail in several feet of snow. Mike estimated we went over 10 miles. it was beautiful, but I did not take that many pictures because I was focused on staying alive. When we left the Needles we decided to head South through the Navajo reservation and stop in Gallup for the night. We got up early yesterday morning, and headed down I-40 towards home. We got in at 4:00pm and I vegged out the rest of the night. We were going to try to climb Mt Peal again, but the roads around the mountain were closed and it would have been a 15 mile hike into the the base of the mountain before a climb. Just not enough time! Anyway.... A great way to start the New Year, and celebrate my Birthday. There are soooo many details I did not include in here because, I am so far behind, but I need to get ready for work!
Love you all!

Happy New Years!
As I am writing this blog I am waiting on my buddy Mike Champlin to come get me. We are leaving for Southeaster Utah this morning, for some climbing, hiking, and general craziness! Wednesday flew by, with work, trying to fix mom's car, (Again) Sherrie cooked my birthday dinner, and trying to get my stuff together for this little trip. Thursday was equally crazy as it was New Years eve, and since today is a holiday, we had to be ready for the long weekend. Yesterday OU played in the Sun Bowl at 1:00pm, so my plan was to bust butt, and try to be done by 1:00. It did not go to plan, and I went to lunch at 1:00! I got to watch the first quarter, then back to work. After work Sherrie, Trey, and I went to Chad and Shannon Lovett's house. We made pizza, and hung out. We made it home at 11:15 and watched TV until after midnight. I have more crap packed than I took to Nepal. I am not looking forward to the drive to Utah, but I am sure it will be worth it!
Love you all!
